Manic Street Preachers – If you tolerate this

Reconozco que esta canción me impactó la primera vez que la pude oír con cierta tranquilidad, siguiendo su letra, su mensaje lleno de intencionalidad política, tan relacionada con España y la cruel Guerra Civil que sufrimos hace 70 años. El mensaje sigue siendo de actualidad, si seguimos tolerando la crueldad de las guerras, nuestros hijos pueden ser los siguientes. Para ilustrarlo, lo mejor el cartel repúblicano en el que está basado el tema.

Merece la pena oír y disfrutar de este grupo galés, Manic Street Preachers, tan significado políticamente en su país, y no por ello demonizado como les hubiese pasado en España, lugar en el que hubiesen sido tachados de “paniaguados”, “subvencionados”, “barrigas agradecidas” o cualquier epíteto similar lanzado por personajes que se creen en posesión de la verdad y del don de la gracia y el saber escribir, sólo por considerar que su ideología no tiene porqué ser algo oculto de lo que avergonzarse.
